Peter J.Heizmann
Peter, I started to cry for the cars...as for the driver's, I am considering the source as to who and how these got wrecked.Mine is far from exotic, but, glad to see it wasn't on the list. Went out to the garage and it's still there.See 'ya, Peter J. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/icons/tongue.gif" alt="" />
Guest Skyking
I think the good part about owning one of those cars is they don't look any different smashed up.............
Peter J.Heizmann
Skyking...that's an interesting observation. Biff & Buffy, after discharge from the hospital, probably looked at them, wrote another check, and, bought another.

Guest
noone really knows the TRUE wealth of a man until the day he dies. THATS WHEN the creditors come knocking at his door. OR, when his survivors ask 'fries with that sir?"
rgshafto
Hello, saw your junkyard photos and am wondering where it is located. I live in Maine and would like to pay a visit. It reminds me of John Monroe's yard in So. Thomaston, but all 3,000 of those teens to 50s cars got crushed about ten years ago. Now that makes me cry! JanK
3000? Crushed?? How could that happen???I can't believe there wasn't an outcry at the time, but even now I still think it's a cryin' shame.Jan K.Wis Region
rgshafto
The yard was located on 50+ acres of prime coastal property, started back in the 30s by John's father. The state prohibited him from taking in any new cars in the early 60s, and those antiques become his sole source of income. When he died, his sister inherited the property and she called in the crushers. It was a real loss to the old car community. Fortunately I found the place early enough to get as many parts as I could off his six 36 Pontiac carcasses, but a lot of good stuff was lost.
