Large Phaeton

Hi Folks,

Would much appreciate your help on this one which seems an American car. Not sure of the country of photo but the numberplate could just be British/Colonial. British numberplates of the period had a dash after the letter. This one could be a lower dot. If British then P would have been Surrey County mid way between 1903 and 1913, so say, cca 1908. This car looks  later? It is left hand drive so not probably made/suitable in UK. Not getting anywhere so any help would be much appreciated.

Regards

I noticed that the Crane-Simplex photos I saw featured nearly flat-horizontally oriented front leaf springs, with frame horns that turned sharply down to extend down to the front spring eye. The mystery car has front leaf springs with seemingly a greater upward curve in front, and frame horns which are not nearly so angled downward.

Otherwise, the cars are very similar, I think.
