ADade
I need to replace the headlight glass on my '18 4 Cyl roadster, but I can't get the trim rings off. One poster with a 6-Cyl suggested there's a button on the bottom of the ring that releases it, but apparently the 4- and 6-Cyl cars are different because mine has no such release. I'm concerned about warping or bending the rings trying to get them off. Anybody know how these are removed?
Hubert_25-25
On my 1925, There are 3 hooks on the rim of the bucket. You push the trim ring back about 1/8" and then rotate the ring counterclockwise about an inch. Then you can pull it off. I do not know if yours is the same set up. ADade
Thanks Hugh! My setup is a bit different -- the hooks are on the rings rather than on the buckets. There are four lugs on the buckets that meet up with the hooks on the rings. Pushing in 1.8" and rotating counterclockwise got one of them off! The other is stuck for the moment, but I'll work it free. Thanks for the tip!
DonMicheletti
Great to hear you were successful. Interesting that the 4's and 6's are different.
