SpecialEducation
Well, on the 40/60 Series cars, you remove it through the floor. Disconnect the line & wire from under the hood, then pull the plate it is attached to from inside the car. Ours was leaky due to corrosion in the reservoir from the inside out. Quite the bugger to weld back solid.
Pete Phillips
You have to pull up the carpet and steering column rubber from driver's floor inside the car. Then there is a removable metal plate around the steering column/brake pedal. Unscrew that, and you will have access to the master cylinder. Unbolt everything from the master cylinder and pull the whole mechanism out through the driver's floor. Pete Phillips, BCA #7338
MrEarl
Abraham, I have merged your duplicate post and moved it to the Post War forum where questions or discussions related to your '56 should go. I am curious, do you have a 1956 Shop Manual? That would help to answer a lot of mechanical and technical questions. They are offered quite often on eBay.
