ski.dive Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Is there a fuel injector cleaner that really works?
bikemikey Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 For what it is worth, I use Techron complete fuel system cleaner about every fourth tank fill up. It seems to give my Ford escort a little more power. My 89 Reatta has new injectors and a new fuel tank, so I started using Sta-Bil 360 to protect the new tank. I might add some Techron later on for the injectors just to keep them clean. Just my opinion , if fuel injectors get really clogged up, they need to get professionally cleaned or replaced. 1
D-a-n-i-e-l Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Seafoam but have a replacement O2 sensor to install afterwards.
Old Man Jimbo Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 I use SeaFoam in all my cars and have never had a problem other that it's like buying gold these days. I would never use SeaFoam in a boat motor unless it's a four stroke though . Stabil for marine 2 stroke only

I use that in my Equinox (V6) that has direct injection. It comes highly recommended by the gurus on the Equinox forums to keep carbon and gunk from building up on the back of the intake valve.
Old Man Jimbo Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 About 3 weeks ago when it got sub zero here in Northern Indiana I got a can of SF and it was almost 13.00 ! . This stuff has gone through the roof although I feel it's a necessity for cold temps and clean injectors or TBI . I used to buy it by the gallon but now no way Jose a gal would probably cost over 100. I use it in my weed whipper that I bought like 10 years ago and it still starts 1st pull. ( please don't move this to the weed whipper forum
