Tim Wolfe
Will wheels from A 1927 Chrysler fit 1928 model 52 Chrysler ? A friend just bought the '28 and has a chance to buy some good wheels. Thanks in advance! Have a great Thanksgiving!
28 Chrysler
If the wheels are from another four cylinder car there maybe a chance they will work. The hubs were changed in the production run mid year. The 1928 cars made early would have the same wheels as the 1927s.
viv w
I restored both 1927 model 50 and 1928 model 52 cars. Both had wheels which were 20 inch, had 8 bolt hubs and I seem to recall the split rims were 3 3/4 inch wide. They have 4 lugs to bolt the split rim to the felloe. I'm busy with a 1926 model G70 6 Cyl car, they also have 20 inch wheels but the hubs are 12 bolt. The split rims are 4 inch wide. The 1926 used 6 lug bolts initially and in late 26 they changed to 5 lug bolts to bolt split rims to felloes. These 5 lug wheels were used into 1927. Be warned, Chrysler in this period changed parts often, so while the hubs may look the same, they may not interchange. There can be differences in bearing cup and cone sizes and watch out for hubcap sizes, they vary immensely. Check bearing numbers and hubcap screw sizes and compare very carefully, between your original wheels and those offered. Viv.
28 Chrysler
Also the wheels from the Chrysler late 1926-27 Model 60 and late 1927-28 Model 62 (small 6 cyl.) are all different
