As much as I'd like a new one, I'm certainly not going to spend that much! Thank you very much for buying the used one for me. It will blend in well with the rest of my van. sebastienbuick
hello, yes when the restoration will start I will put it on the forum;).but this will work out in about 3 years, first I have to finish my buick, and after that you have to restore a Peugeot 205 gti 1984 from my father.and then its will be the turn of the juvaquattre

zipdang
My little brother (pictured) and I pulled the engine Monday to replace the leaking crankshaft seals. We would have had it back in quickly except the vendor I purchased the seals from accidently sent me the wrong rear seal. Anyway, I took the extra time to clean up the mess from the old seals and should have the engine back in by the weekend. The front seal was only leaking a small amount but decided to change it anyway. Also thoroughly cleaned out the generator housing. Maybe that will help solve the lack-of-charging problem I have. I am awaiting the voltage regulator that sebastienbuick was kind enough to obtain for me. Having fun!
sebastienbuick
hello zipdang, nice work!it's a good thing to change the joints;), have you order another joint since it was not the right one?The best of wishes for the future
zipdang
Great day for the mail! The correct rear seal arrived and the voltage regulator from Sebastienbuick did too! Busy days ahead so I'm not sure when I'll be able to work on the 2cv, but hopefully soon.

zipdang
I have successfully installed the crankshaft seals, cleaned up the mess from the old leaking seals, adjusted the valves, and fixed a couple other small things. The van is running better and doesn't leak all over the garage floor. I installed the voltage regulator from sebastienbuick, but unfortunately, it still isn't charging. I guess the next step is to take the generator components to a specialist and get them checked. Question: Could anyone tell me how to get the field coils of the generator out of the engine? I'm guessing the case that they're attached to must come out, but I don't want to risk damaging something trying to remove it incorrectly. Any advice would be appreciated.
sebastienbuick
hello, I see that you have to work well;).his will be the generator that does not work? : /did you have pictures of the generator to see the assembly?I will ask on the other forum where I am to have more answers.it's sad that it still does not work for the battery charge: /.I keep you informed when I have an answer
zipdang
Here's a photo of the front of the generator after I cleaned it up. I have had the armature out but am unsure how to remove the field coils.

sebastienbuick
hello, I come to the news :).Can you fix the dynamo? have you been driving with the 2cv since the last time?
zipdang
I have driven it and it runs great. There has been too much going on lately and that has kept me out of the garage! Also, my desire to work on cars goes down with the temperature. Not much work in the garage when winter sets in. Have you had much time with your Buick?
sebastienbuick
hello, ok yes indeed it is true that with the cold that happens we have less time to work outside :(.yes this weekend I almost finished dismantling the screws of silentbloc (rubber between the chassis and the body)
zipdang
As the season for outside car work ends, I was getting ready to store my toys for the winter. However, we had a nice sunny day so my wife and I went out to lunch in the 2cv one more time before winter storage. Great day!
