What spark plug and gap for 39 Buick with Pertronics

My 1939 Buick Special refuses to run hot with Pertonics.  Going to try one more time with Pertronics coil, new wires and spark plugs.  Tried the car at  both .028 and .035 spark gap using original AC-46 plugs a new original Delco coil plus old coil that was working fine.  Same result: breaking down when hot.  Bought new Pertronics coil and new custom wires.  Now want to try with new spark plugs too.  But I do not know what spark plug to buy or what gap.  The wire guy said AC R47S set to 045.  No such plug available.  Anybody know the answer?  If this doesn't work, going back to points and condeser.  Car ran fine before.  Same old story:  If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
