Den41Buick
After returning from the BCA in Allentown, I found my 3 speed shift no loner able to shift into 2nd or 3rd. It will find first and reverse. Looked at the linkage and it seems to move fine. I am not sure if there is an issue in the column. Anyone have any experience with the same issue? Rusty_OToole
Sounds like a wear or adjustment issue. Try adjusting first, do you have a repair manual?
Den41Buick
no I do not. Is there a section or diagram of the steering column? Thanks

Kenneth Carr
I don't know if this will help but I recently lost both 1st and reverse. The front end had been jacked up for a couple weeks awaiting a master cylinder that was being rebuilt. I pushed it out of the garage and drove to The Transmission Shop and we put it on the lift. A cotter pin that attaches the 1st/reverse rod to the transmission had fallen out. Did you check to see if your 2nd/3rd rod is attached to the transmission?
