Jim Rohn
SOLD Jaguar XKE complete rebuilt rear axle assembly $1750 XKE V12 rear axle assembly as shown. This is from one of our clients. This was acquired from a prominent Jaguar establishment a couple of years ago. It has been sitting in the shop ever since. It is fresh and only dusty from sitting here for 2 years. The parts and shop time to build one with shocks and brakes all new or rebuilt is very expensive. The photos show the tags and the one tag decodes it to be a 3.31 ratio whichis pretty desirable as it gives a lower RPM at cruising speed than most UScars which were mostly 3.54 ratios. This has the posi-traction or limited slip. smithbrother
What's the measurement from where the rims attach, side to side? What kind of HP will this unit handle? Dale in Indy
Ovalrace25
Isn't series 1 stuff really valuable these days? Or is only if there is SOME of the car still attached?
DavidAU
It looks to me like it has XJ6 or XJ12 hub carriers and calipers. they are quite different to E type. A flange to flange measurement will sort out whether It is an XJ6 diff fitted with E type axles and bottom arms or a stock XJ6 / 12. If it is E type width it is certainly valuable to the 32 Ford hot rod crowd.
Jim Rohn
so sorry, I was never notified of any replies ... seems the "changes" are not easy for me to master replies, in order: mounting distances are ~ 54" no clue on the HP, but since this is the later version for the V12, I would GUESS it is a pretty stout assembly mistaken on the Series 1, it is for the V12 XKE Series 3, 1971-1975 it IS from an XKE ... price reduction as well Edited October 7, 2016 by Jim Rohn (see edit history)
