New Member with 1933 Rockne DeLuxe Roadster

Recommended Posts

Hi,

i am new here and new owner of a 1933 Rockne DeLuxe Roadster in unrestored original condition.

The Car is maroon, in nice "survivor/ time capsule" condition and drivable.

I have a lot of Questions, need some Parts and like to ask for Detail pictures

to make Repros of missing parts as the Rubber Pedal Pads.

The car is in Germany/ Europe.

Is there another recommendet Forum/ Club to get help?

Thank you

Joe

The museum has many parts prints you can purchase to have the parts reproduced.  Get a parts book from Quinn and look up the part number needed for the part.  Don't expect the museum to find it for you.  The Shrock brothers would be a good place to start for rubber parts.  The brake pedal pads are already available. 32-33_rockney_clutch_brake_1200.jpg

Welcome, Joe.

Your roadster is a true jewel!

As has been mentioned, the Shrock Brothers have already reproduced a number of the parts you may seek.  http://shrockbrothers.com/

You will definitely want to join the Antique Studebaker Club, which specializes in pre-WWII vehicles.  http://www.theantiquestudebakerclub.com/

There is also the Studebaker Drivers Club, which addresses all things Studebaker. http://studebakerdriversclub.com/index.asp

And it's forum.  http://forum.studebakerdriversclub.com/

Less imperative, but also recommend contacting The Rockne Registry, as we have only found about 250 extant worldwide.  http://www.theantiquestudebakerclub.com/rockne/rockne.htm

I also have a '33 Rockne 10 Standard sedan that is still driven and never restored.  Let me know if I can be of assistance.   http://s57.photobucket.com/user/rockne10/library/Rockne?sort=2&page=1

And Rolf Meyer in Zurich has a '33 Deluxe Sedan that has been in his family since new.  Here is mine, then Rolf's.

Guest GST32RK

Hi guys, here is a picture of my '32 Rockne Deluxe Roadster, restored 5 years ago. I am in Prescott, AZ

I also have another 32 Rockne frame and motor and trans that I need wheels for . I am having a real hard time finding wheels that have a 4.75 bolt pattern and the large center bore hole, any ideas?

Thanks,   Gary

Gary, if you send the pictures I will post them for you.

You don't indicate if yours is a Model 75 or a Model 65.  Two entirely different Rocknes available in 1932.  If it's a Model 65 your wheels are 18", whereas the '33 Rockne models went to 17".  I'm sure someone can help you find wheels, once we know which ones you are looking for.

Should I assume you are in the Rockne Registry?

Your patina looks prime!  I would do nothing but a fine polish, as used by body professionals, and a protective wax.

I may well be wrong but, I suspect the roadsters had leather, rather than vinyl upholstery.

I like to buff out some imperfections only. We found some matte areas on the overall shiny paint. I read bee wax is the best to care the paint? Better than newer silicone Stuff?

In my opinnion the Seats and rumble Seat are original and they are vinyl.

Not leather.

I try to get a Member of studebakerdriversclub forum but they blocked me for

some reason?

Do you know someone with a 32/33 Roadster? There is maybe a part missing

at convertible top. I like to get Fotos to compare.

Also i am searching for Air cleaner and one Whiper Motor with whiper Arm

and 2 original Headlights.

Thank you

Joe

I believe there is a normal delay in access to the SDC forum for new joiners.

We have found a few roadsters, but joining the Registry will help access to those owners. Contact Patrick Maher  rockneregistry@gmail.com

No roadster bodies were available on the 1932 "75" chassis.
