The indicator hand on the speedometer of our 37 Special has slipped on the shaft.  It reads reads about 15mph too low.

Can I get the hand back on without removing the speedometer ?     Can I remove the chrome trim bezel then pull out the glass

and get to the speedometer hand ?

Jack,

Here is a pdf copy of the March/April 2015 Torque Tube II issue with my speedometer rebuild article. Be very careful to apply the pressure on the needle in a straight line with equal pressure on each side.  You really don't want to break the shaft, which is easy to snap. Also, it is possible that the spring is the problem because it is more likely that the spring has weakened than the needle slipping on the shaft. Another possibilithy is that it just needs to be cleaned and lubricated. Hopefully you can simply clean and lubricate it to solve the problem. If not, hopefully you can just remove and reattach the needle to solve your problem.
