jframe
Just out of curiosity, what do you guys (and gals) set your tire pressures at? My '65 standard coupe has a new set of Firestone radials on it, and the manual and sticker under the deck lid says 24 pounds. I figure this applies to the old bias plys, and wonder if radial pressures shouldn't be somewhat different.
60FlatTop
I grew up in a tire shop and always put 35 PSI in mine. We had a couple of vulcanizers and three recapping machines. My Grandfather said "We put them together with heat and pressure. They come apart with heat and pressure." At 35# a small object in the road is more likely to spit out from under the tire than be absorbed into the tread.Bernie
telriv
Preferably a minimum of 28PSI. Normally I go about 30-32 with radials. Depending on what the max. pressure is printed on the sidewalls, some are 51PSI, then 35. Alignment specs are diff. for radials than bias ply's.
