58L-Y8
Hi Noting this 1933 Continental Ace sedan currently on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Other-Makes-/161920185899?forcerrptr=true&hash=item25b331f62b:g:~ikAAOSwk1JWcYj8&item=161920185899 How many Aces are now accounted for? In the 1977 Special Interest Autos article, they wrote only two were. One being offered by a collector car dealer is sort of restored, are any of the surviving Aces correctly restored? Were the Hayes bodies shared with any other carmaker? The styling seems to be current with its times, looks familiar, most similar to the concurrent Essex-Terraplane, though without the split windshield. JFranklin
Wasn't that the car left over from DeVaux motors failure? Edited December 24, 2015 by JFranklin (see edit history)
StillOutThere
Agree the Hayes-built body has multiple similarities to the '32-33 Essex-Terraplanes from Hudson. Even the X-member frame has similarity. Had a chance to study a Continental some 7-8 years ago and it was very impressive in its detailing. As a Terraplane guy myself, there is however in fact nothing shared between the Hudson product and the Continental.
