1937 Packard Taillight lens, ID help please!
… ID help please! I bought this Taillight years ago thinking it could be for a 1936 Dodge and DeSoto. After comparing them they are close but no cigar; I have since seen a photo of a 1937 Packard that resembles this Taillight lens the ID embossed inside my lens is GB-3048 and 1798; this Lens is dia 3.313 inches or 3-5/16ths.

Can anybody confirm the application?
Thank you, Ric Dean

could it be a lincoln lens? Late Model K lincoln used a light similar to packard but smaller. This would be 1937-1939 ish

thanks I'll do some investigating on that possibility.

Looks a lot like this 1936 Chrysler item without the cage....

... Those Airflow Taillights are smaller dia but more convex and they are made by the 'RILITE Co'.

thanks for your input professor

... I was wrong the Airflow Lens is a Larger of the Two, see the comparison photo I'm posting.

A side view shot and ht measurement might help.

Here is a side view of a complete 1937 Packard Taillight, I know Packard made at least 2 Different Tail lights in 1937. I am not 100% shure the lens I have is a Packard only going by looks. The fail safe way is to match the embossing GB-3048 and 1798. Diameter is 3.313 inches or 3-5/16ths. Thank you

I am looking to add some 3d printed reflector cups to the taillight housings of a 1937 Packard 12 convertible. It's a driver, so safety is paramount. I'm just looking to improve the light output. If anyone could give me the inner dimensions of the taillight housing, I will be working up some prototypes if anyone is interested.
