haroldstrust
Was wondering if someone could help ID this old cylinder head ? 4 cylinder. Has an S logo with some other initials. Numbers also on it are 1 3140 and 2-6. Guessing the last is a date code which would make it a 1916 or 1926 manifold. thanks for all the help Edited April 24, 2015 by haroldstrust (see edit history)
Steve Braverman
Looks more like a cylinder head than an intake manifold.
Layden B
Picture of the other side might be very helpful.
nzcarnerd
Also some measurements would help, including major dimensions and a guesstimate of the bore size from the size of the combustion chamber.
Larry Schramm
I agree. Looks like a 4 cylinder head.
Ivan Saxton
It may be for one side of a V8. The clue is the centre return outlet for water to the top of the radiator, where is could provide evaporative heat for the intake. The diameter of the return may also indicate thermosiphon cooling. 28 Chrysler
I agree on the V8.The size may give more clues. The spark plug holes 7/8" ?
