Buick City
I just got another 1990 reatta with a bad engine ! I have a good 1991 engine ! I know the trans is different, but is there a problem putting the "91" engine in the "90" ? (wireing) Would I need to use the "91" ECM ? Has anyone done this ?THANKS FOR THE INFO ! D-a-n-i-e-l
No issues with it. If I recall through knock sensor is on the opposite side either way it can be moved. The 90 ecm will run it with no issues at all.

2seater
That's the tuned port, 'snakes style', intake manifold, correct? It may, or may not, have EGR, and if it does, I believe it operates differently. The intake manifold could be changed to the older style, but there will then be two open holes in the heads for the integrated PCV system that would need to be plugged. D-a-n-i-e-l
he can use the original intake and have no issues. I just cross referenced the gaskets and the are the same through all years.
2seater
That's why I mentioned the style of intake manifold. The LN3 engine was used in some car lines through 1991 and the L27 was used in some 1990 models, before the Reatta got it, so there is some overlap. If it is the L27 style intake, there will be extra holes in the head that are not covered by the LN3 intake.
