John_S_in_Penna
I see there are a lot of Canadian car fans on the forum(and especially from Ontario). You might be interestedin seeing Jay Leno's comedy show, which, according to the internet, is coming to Toronto on April 30.It is to be held in Massey Hall at 8 p.m.Just about everyone has a sense of humor (especiallythose on this Forum!), and they might like to exercise ita bit. Just be sure to get tickets right away, since hisshows sell (or sell out) fast. And I'll bet if there's an A.A.C.A. region getting togetherto attend, he'd be happy to talk to you beforehand.Car hobbyists from other regions have done similar things. John_S_in_Penna
If you go, plan to buy tickets directly from the theater, whose phone number and website you can find on-line.Re-sellers usually ask double--at least $200 a ticket!
John_S_in_Penna
His current show includes a whole series of excellent car jokes, too!
John348
Reading this thread inspired me to look into seeing Jay, I just purchased a pair of tickets for this coming Thursday for a show in Bergen NJ, $150 each plus (don't get me started) $32 charge for ticketmaster. John_S_in_Penna
John, I'm sure you'll like the comedy show!If you bought directly from the theater, you wouldn't have to pay a middleman's mark-up.Get several of your AACA region members together,if you like, and the event will be even more memorable. You definitely could talk to the entertainer backstage. John348
Hey John, I am sure we will enjoy, I always enjoyed Jay's wit and miss seeing him on the Tonight Show. I am not sure about yourself but I don't find Jimmy Fallon all the funny, but then again NBC is shooting for younger viewers. There were very few tix left and I did go direct to the theater but it is routed directly to ticketmaster. Most venues in the tri-state (NYC Metro) area have some sort of deal with ticketmaster. John_S_in_Penna
I watched Jimmy Fallon's show a couple of times, but somehow I'm not attracted to it. Then again,I don't watch much television anyway.
John348
Just s follow-up I saw Jay on Thursday April 9 at the Bregen Performorming Arts Center in Englewood NJ. Great show very funny, and he was in for and 1 1/2 straight through no breaks, well worth it
trimacar
Leno's Tonight show had a lot of class, as does he (that may not be grammatically correct!). Fallon's Tonight show has some funny moments but is much more juvenile in humor. My best buddy went to see Leno in Washington DC a few nights ago, said his show was excellent....and it apparently changes daily, as many of the jokes were about very current events... I saw Rodney Dangerfield twice, about 10 years apart, some routine and same order of jokes
John_S_in_Penna
It's my experience that the Leno comedy show IS indeed virtually the same each time. I don't know whether he evolves itover time, or after a certain number of appearances suddenly changes it.Sometimes the show will have an advance group (such as a band or another comedian) which the hosting venue will arrange.
