Original/correct `67 Riv rocker moldings

The `67 Salesman`s manual states the `67 Riv has a "restyled rocker panel molding" and the attached Buick PR photo seems to show a full length stainless rocker molding. However, when viewing actual photos of the cars the rocker panels seem to be blacked out (shadowed)? I know the `66 model had ribbed, dark moldings on the rocker panel. What is correct for the `67 models? Thanks in advance for any and all repliespost-50047-143142974596_thumb.jpg,

Hi Tom. In looking at owner's photos of other 67's, the stainless moldings are on the cars. Sometimes GM's press photos contain items that never made it into production but the pics of 67's that I have taken at various shows illustrate the stainless moldings. Hope you are well!

Did all the '67s have the polished stainless, or was it an 'option' like the '68-'69 W5 Custom Bright Exterior Mouldings?

Hey Randy

Yes all had the polished stainless. Nothing optional in 67.

Was the 68-69 option you speak of bright moldings "above" the rocker, hence the black ribbed rocker molding stayed same when that option was selected?

Correct Jason - The W5 'option' was the polished stainless panels that were installed between the black ribbed rocker molding and under the lower body trim molding - the one with the black painted insert that ran the full length of the lower body.

It cost the grand sum of $42.10 in 1968 !
