patrickaturner
Has anyone had any experience with putting a 1965 Riviera rear bumper on a 1963? I'd really like to clean up the rear of my 1963 by filling in the tail lights in the body and moving them to the bumper.
RivNut
I thought about it but didn't do it. The panel below the trunk is totally different and the quarter panels on the '64 have a much bigger recess for the end of the bumper than does the '65. It looks doable until you see the two bumpers side by side. Been there done that. I bought the bumper first, then realized my mistake. If you really want to do it, you'd want to weld on the entire back half of a rear '65 clip. Why not clean up the rear as you mentioned then add tail lights to your rear bumper. It would be a lot easier.
Guest dwhiteside64
Most people like the rear/front styling of a particular year so that's what they purchase/own. I find it odd to change the front or rear styling when there are a number of nice 63-65's on the market that can be bought at a reasonable price. But maybe it's the purist in me that makes me feel this way...
