Shakadula
I need a new carb for my GS and can't find a Rochester anywhere. Is there a Holley or Edelbrock that will allow me to still use my Star Wars air cleaner?
carbking
All 1967 Rochester Q-Jets are difficult to find for a couple of reasons:(1) Identified by pressed-in tag. Once the tag is removed, most enthusiasts cannot identify(2) Fuel inlet nut had fewer threads than later nuts, causing failure of the casting threads.Since you seem to want a carburetor, and not necessarily hung-up on original; give Cliff Ruggles at Cliff's High Performance a call, and tell him what you need. He can custom modify a somewhat later Q-Jet that WILL still take original fuel line, linkage, and air cleaner.I don't know for sure about Holleys, but I doubt there is one that will allow the use of any of the above without some modifcations. Same is true with the e-clones.Jon.
