Tom Burtch
I'm trying to identify a 6 volt Autolite pancake style horn with number HA-4040-C 8E stamped in the body flange. It's about 5.25 inches in diameter with a wing pattern in the face plate.I have a 1935-46 Autolite horn listing for OE applications and can't find it. I expect it is a bit earlier or for an aftermarket application.
TerryB
Tom, the shape looks similar to a motorcycle horn of the 30s to 50s era. Indian mc used auto lite parts so it might be aftermarket replacement for them.Terry

Tom Burtch
Your attachments don't work. I get a invalid attachment error message. Here they are again plus two more shots with back side details. Don't know why the first ones dropped out.I've been looking for motorcycle images per Terry's suggestion and see some very similar to mine, but hope for positive ID.Note this one was made in Canada, so if original equipment I think it may be for a car or truck rather than a motorcycle ... or it could be a service part. Larry Schramm
Might be for a car or truck, but I would be more inclined to a motorcycle. Just my opinion.
