RiKi5156B
Would anyone have the dimensions and line size/spacing for the pinstripes on 1940 special wheels? Sent mine in for blasting and forgot to measure them. Thanks, Rich
papafarms
Hi Rich, sorry i havent answered you sooner, if you havent gotten any answer, i just went out and measured the one on my one original wheel i have, i am glad you brought this to my attention also cause i need to have the striping on my wheels done, so the measurement i came up with are that the lines are a sixteenth wide with an eighth inch in between, on my wheel there are three lines, hope this is what your lookng for. If that isnt it you can always contact Doug Seybold, if anyone would know it would be him, good luck, Bob
39BuickEight
I am fairly certain Grant McGrath has this information, at least for a 1939. I recall a thread about it.
Bob H
Rich:On page 29 of the Buick club judging manual is a section on pin-striping wheels. All years from 1937-1954 have three concentric stripes with the center stripe being "slightly wider than the others." I have a couple of 1939 wheels with stripes on them but I am not sure they are original. They look like they were applied by hand and sort of equally divide the space, the center one is wider. I have had lousy luck posting photos but I might try again tomorrow. Bob H
