keiser31
I believe it should be a Carter DRT-08....here is some more information on it....
carbking
Original carb - Carter type DRT-08 tag number 197sBest carb (to quote Perry M, "calling for a conclusion of the witness" ). Carter, Stromberg, and Zenith ALL make (or made) replacements that are superior to the original. Each has its good points, and bad points. Johnson, Marvel/Schebler, Rayfield, and Tillotson also made replacement units, but none were even close to as good as the original.Jon.
carbking
Obviously, Keiser31 can type faster than I Jon.
Phil 32DL6
The DRT-08 was also factory standard issue on the '32 DLs, but both of the ones I've owned came with swapped out Carter BB-1 carbs.I don't know how they would work on a '31, but the engines are pretty similar and I've always had good performance. There may have been something wrong with it as I have heard many stories about the Carter DRT-08 being replaced by the BB-1.
