Paul Falabella
Removed all the chrome from front of car. While it's off I took off the radiator mounting strap panel and the lower latch support panel to paint. The hood will now only latch on the secondary. The latch is mounted to the panel through elongated bolt holes. The panel, without the chrome, has some up and down play. I believe the grill stiffens it.Do I need to play with the latch or will replacing the chrome allow proper securing ? Or did I discover this predicament ?Thanks
Bhigdog
You can't accurately adjust the latch without everything being together and tight. Put it all back together and adjust, if required..............Bob
bhambulldog
Just as Bob says,Get it all together. And then it's a lot of trial and error to get it just right. Including the rubber bumper stops in the radiator support. Get lots of white lithium grease and apply it to the hinges, springs and latch assembly
