48Super
FOR SALE: 1948 Buick Super Convertible Model 56C 66,600 Miles Price: $48,000 Location: Jacobus, PA (1 hour south of Hershey/Carlisle) Phone: 717-428-3408 This car is a fine example of a very desirable Buick convertible. I have owned and cared for this great Buick for 31 years. The car was an extremely solid and well preserved original that was given a thorough on-frame restoration between 1990 and 1993. I did the majority of the work myself and paid particular attention to accuracy of the details. The car received an AACA Senior award in 1994 and has been sparingly driven and well maintained since. The color combination of Sequoia Cream body with black top and red wheels is very attractive and always gets many positive comments at shows. It is in excellent condition both mechanically and cosmetically and is ready to show and enjoy. Major highlights of the restoration include the following: -Body and all sheet metal completely stripped and professionally refinished with single stage urethane paint. -Complete new wiring harness installed. -Engine has had new rings, bearings and complete valve job. Fuel pump and carburetor recently rebuilt using ethanol-resistant parts. -Front suspension completely rebuilt including new springs and shocks. -Brake system completely rebuilt, master cylinder sleeved w/stainless & silicone fluid utilized. -Hydro-Lectric system completely rebuilt and fully functional. -Hampton Coach interior and top installed. The body is super straight with extremely good panel fit. All chrome is very nice and the stainless grill and trim are nearly flawless. Engine compartment and chassis are clean and very well detailed. The interior features combination red leather/ tan Bedford cord seats which are in excellent condition. The convertible top fits beautifully, looks brand new and has the correct chrome window frame. NOS correct Guide fog lights, brackets and switch have been installed. Original radio operates and still has the factory GM-script tubes. Also available is an extensive collection of spare parts and literature. Restorer32
Whoever bought this got a car that is likely even better than they realize. We did the paint work on this car and it is the only truly 100% rust free car we've had in the shop in the entire 35 years we have been restoring. It needed absolutely ZERO metal replacement.
