50jetback Posted August 7, 2013 Author Share Posted August 7, 2013 Well the past 5 weeks and 2 days have just flown by and here I am sitting in the QANTAS Lounge at LAX. The 16 hour flight to Melbourne departs at 2330hrs tonight, then a 2 hour layover before the last 4 1/2 hours to Perth, that will get us home around mid-day or so Thursday Aug 8th ( we seem to lose Wednesday Aug 7 somewhere!! ).Had a great time catching up with BCA member Everret AYRES in Seattle and had a ride in his fairly recently acquired 1934 90 Series Convertible Coupe - quite a car!!Travelled down the west coast via Highway 1 and then Highway 101 to Los Angeles. A lot more traffic than we have been used to.Have put some arrangements in place for the safe custody of the Vegemite and you never know it may turn up on the table at the Forum breakfast in Portland ( it's okay, Vegemite doesn't go off - forever I believe ) so those who weren't game this year may pluck up enough courage to have a taste in 2014!I might just go and have a last COORS Original beer while I can still get one.
