bhclark
Continuing saga of my '58 Super.Got stranded again Saturday night. Previous to the problem I was running rich. Couldn't get her to run right, adjusting the mixture screws didn't make a difference, then she wouldn't start. Pulled the airhorn and the drivers's side fuel bowl was empty. Pulled the carb and found one of the plugs on the bottom turned to jelly. Looks like it has been replaced previously. The carb is a Carter 2380S. ('59 carb)I am looking for the aluminum plug that goes in the bottom, I believe it is under the primary jet? I measured it with a drill bit and it comes out to 15/64ths? Might be a 1/4"? About a 1/4" deep as well.I believe they were originally made of aluminum.Any sources?I've emailed several carb rebuilders and parts places but haven't received any responses. Pete O
You could probabally fabricate this plug yourself. Go down to the hardware store and look for some aluminum bar stock.

60FlatTop
You can take that 15/64ths drill bit and drill a 1/4' deep hole is a piece of scrap. Then puddle a little lead in the hole to make a lead plug.Bernie
