countrytravler
What is it and what does it fit?
Ian_Greenlaw
my 2 cents worth.....looks like a front seat carrier and the hole is for access to the battery. the screw thingy looks like a slide adjuster so you can hold the seat position. the pieces of wood on each side of the large plate with all the holes in it is what the actual seat bolts to.Ian
Scotts_DG8
The question I have is this like the one that would be used in the '31 DG 8 too? This is something that I'd come to find out that I missing in mine. If I had a picture of a DG 8 one I'd obviously know but do not. If it did turn out to be the same then I would be interested in it if it was for sale. Scott...
keiser31
My 1931 DH6 coupe doors are 43 1/2" tall X 34 1/2" wide. Those are probably sedan doors. The second looks to be a 1930 and the others look to be 1931. Edited May 2, 2013 by keiser31 (see edit history)

If yes, I would like to buy the D.S. door. HA Ha! Can you give me the Measurement of the D.S. door? 12 to 6 and 9 to 3. Thanks Dave

Scotts_DG8
Dave,Yes it's a '31 DG 8 Coupe. I'll get the door measurements tomorrow. I'll do a bit more checking on the seat frame and let you know on that. Scott...
Scotts_DG8
Dave,I got side tracked Friday but did get out and got the picture and measurements. 1931 Dodge DG 8 Drivers Door. You should be able to click on the image to view all the info. But if you have any trouble reading it the following are the measurements: Door height is 43 3/8 inches in the center of the door, the Door height on the sides are 43 inches which means the door has a slight arch to it towards the center. When the door is measured in segments the top (center) to the top of the belt line moulding is 17 5/8 inches, the belt line moulding is 2 1/4 inches wide and the bottom of the belt line to the bottom of the door is 23 1/2 inches. The door width is 34 3/8 inches. That about covers it. Scott...
keiser31
O.k.....after seeing Scott's dimensions, I went out and re-measured mine. I was off by 1/8" each way. I need to wear my glasses more often. My doors are the same as his.

I just found the body to the doors out back. 4 door sedan. My customer just has to shorten the door by 1 5/8", more wide by 4 3//8" to the sedan door. At least he has something to work with know. Plus he would have to add another hinge at the belt line.
keiser31
One of my coupes has two-hinged doors and the other has three-hinged doors. Both made in February of 1931, so the change was somewhere between February 11th, 1931 and February 23, 1931. The blue and black car was made first. countrytravler
What are you going to do with the one in the garage? The Blue one is beautiful. Is that what your going to use the cap for?
keiser31
Not sure what I will be doing with the cap. Saving it for a while. Thanks for the compliment on the blue car. It was mostly a warmed-over paint job when I bought it and I have been trying to upgrade and fix the booboos. A LOT was untouched and should have been re-done. In fact, the paint is so poorly done that it's bubbling and peeling. It's my daily driver, so I try not to fret about that part. It's coming along rather well now that I can use the internet to find stuff. The car in the garage is my very first car and I am gathering stuff to finish it. The frame and suspension are done along with a lot of small parts. I drove it to high school in 1969 and 1970.
