Machinist_Bill
I have a pile of distributors and I want to verify if my information is correct.1) Northeast Model 0 - Type 10004 - 12 Volts_____________________________________??? to 1926??? - 4 Cyl.2) Dodge Brothers Ignition Unit - MFG. By Northeast - Model 0 - Type 10004 - 12 Volts___ ????????????? - 4 Cyl.3) Northeast Model TU - Type 10786 - 6 Volts_____________________________________ 1926-1927 - 2 Unit System - 4 Cyl.4) Northeast Model TU - Type 10826 - 6 Volts_____________________________________ 1927-1928 Series 128 - 4 Cyl.5) Northeast Model TU - Type 10836 - 6 Volts_____________________________________ 1927-1930 Senior - 6 Cyl.Distributors 1 & 2 seem to be the same but #2 has the dodge brothers insignia. Pete K.
I hope this will help a bit Bill, I believe this to be original to this car, 1925 Dodge Brothers, Serial# 388850. Distributor Mdl. "O" , Type 10004, 12 Volts. The serial # on this dist. tag is not filled in. In other words, no imprint of numerals. It is blank. The lower tag on shaft housing is;1868037. I wish I could help with all the other distributors--good luck!---Pete. Edited April 23, 2013 by Pete K. (see edit history)
R.White
I don't know if this helps at all, Bill, but Myers' catalogue just lists one distributor body for the type TU so presumably there is a certain amount of interchange'ability.Myers Early DodgeRay. Machinist_Bill
That's good news Ray! I'm going to post this same thread at the "Other" website and see what info they can give me. When everything is confirmed I'll post it with lots of photos of each distributor to ease future searches for those who still need distributors.Bill

Machinist_Bill
Bob you did your homework! I was almost positive I could take a 6 cylinder distributor and convert it to a 4 cylinder distributor by changing the shaft and breaker plate and upper housing. Thanks again Bob for your time in this research! Do you have the info on what points, condensor, and cap for each distributor? Now I need to find out what years they used the Dodge Brothers tag on the Model 0 - 10004 versus the Northeast tag....... From here to A518420 to the Two Unti Starting System they refer to North East system.Quote :All orders fpr Dodge BrothersIgnition Unit, or its component parts shouldsent direct to the nearest branch or service station of Nortn East Service Station,IncRochester , New York. Neither the compleate unit nor its parts are listed in this book as they are covered by the :Pasrt Price List of the Electrical Equipment manufactured for Dodge Brothers by North East Services,Inc," supplied by that company for insertion in same binder with the Master Parts Price List, " end quote. so from that one would gather that North East made these dissys with Dodge Brothers lables on them before Dodge Brothers used North East lables. more to come , stay tuned !!!!!regard bob
SergioD
Hi Bill, I think that after three years you could solve your doubts. I am searching for a 1925-6 REO distributor housing for my car. I post a picture to clarify it. If anyone can help me I will be very grateful. Thank you very much from Argentina!
