Guest pasma311
Hello Buick aficionados,I found this part metal detecting in Lansing, Michigan in an old neighborhood. I figure it must be from an old Buick from the 30s or 40s because of the fasces on the logo, but I can't find it anywhere and honestly my knowledge base is severely limited when it comes to this stuff. I am hoping maybe someone here might be able to identify what it is. Thanks!-Travis
egor
Buick's shield doesn't have a fasces on it. A stag, a cross, some checkerboard stuff, etc. I doubt it's anything Buick-related, but a good find, anyway.

Guest pasma311
Thanks for the info guys! Looks like I am back to the drawing board as far as this item is concerned but eliminating a possibility brings me one step closer. I appreciate the help. -Travis
jscheib
Whatever the thing is under the T, hatchet, or whatever in a case?? looks familiar but from what I do not know. Maybe it will register with me later, but I do not believe connected to any Buick Century Model.John
Pete K.
"Century" was an old bicycle manufacture. Could be part of an early one. Great find!
sean1997
"Century" was an old bicycle manufacture. Could be part of an early one. Great find!Looks like it might be part of a bell that could have been mounted on the handle bar?
Terry Stock
I was thinking bicycle bell too. The top (displayed) would screw onto a thread. There have been some auctioned here:"Century" Windup Bicycle Bell : Lot 267andBicycle-Accessory; Bell, Century, Wind-Up, 2 inch.

jscheib
My first thought was to suggest going back with the detector to look for the rest of the bell. However, my memory tells me that these bells had a way of vibrating the top part and unthreading, thus losing that part. Personally, I think I lost about three of them, but none in Lansing, so I will not try to claim it.John
