Guest btate
It is not measuring as such. I hope you are right. The guy at the tire shop tells me one thing and his web site says something else. the inner edge of the bolt to the outer edge of the bolt measures 3" he said to measure from center of one to the inner of the other one and I get 3.25" then I look at his chart and it appears to be 5 on 5.50. I will take it you are right

Guest btate
Thanks for the patterns. I am trying to order wheels from Performance Plus in California and they say measure the 5 lug using the the 2 studs next to each other. I bet they ship a lot of wheels wrong. check them out performanceplustire.com
Guest btate
I just reviewed Tire Rack website and it said 5 lugs measuring is only an estimate and since they have all cars on record, to call them. I am amazed.
jonahboo
....do you still have the lug bolts?if so that may be an issue w/ wheels that require a "shank" lug nut (ie Cragar)- food for thought

Guest btate
I would take that drive over but I am not buying wheels and tires there. They didn't handle "US Wheels"
Airy Cat
What are you going to do with the factory wheels that came with the car?
MrEarl
NEVER KNEW THAT... about how to measure the 5 on 5. So that's why I could never read 5 inches center to center. Tha's a crazy way of measuring IMO.
buick5563
Only reason I knew was when I wanted Road Wheels for my Cat. It seriously confused a dude.

Guest Stean
It's been awhile, but do you still have the original wheels for the 55 Special?
Barney Eaton
The chart shown is the "new" way to measure. Since it is not possible to measure from lug to lug on a "odd" number of studs, someone came up with this new method. The Buick lugs are on a 5" circle.
