Guest Mr.Bill
Hi All Hope I've spelled metallic correctly. In the judging manual metallic paint was available in 1927. Could this paint have been available on Chevolet in 1937 ? I wonder . Packard ,Peerless, Pierce Arrow. I would not question. Just wondering about less expensive makes. Thanks Mr. Bill Edited May 22, 2012 by West Peterson (see edit history)
Restorer32
Look at a paint chip chart for your car. If the word "Poly" is in the name of the color it's metallic.
poci1957
Note that prewar metallics used much finer particles than modern paints, be careful of that.
West Peterson
poci is correct. If you walk up to a prewar car and can immediately tell that the paint is metallic, the flakes are probably way too large.
