keiser31
We used to have a summer cottage in Gaylord, Michigan (on Old U.S.27). I would absolutely LOVE to tour with you folks.
Guest Bill Miller
I looked at the site and it sounds like a good itinerary and I would be interested. What are the eligibility requirements for the cars (years etc)?Bill
junkyardjeff
I will have to think about this.
D Yaros
I have been on this tour, and it is great! Basically one starts out in the a.m., stops for lunch and a show, then on to another city to spend the night; have another show, dinner and enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow tourers. We had a police escort the entire route. People would come out of their houses or pull off the side of the road to view the parade of passing cars.As far as I know, there are no vehicle restrictions. I have yet to find another tour event that even begins to approach, let alone equal the fun of this one.
smithbrother
Hey, sounds like a good time. We have very close friends in Prudenville, MI which is right off of US-27.Got to put the windshield back in my 41 Buick Limited, and we will be READY. I haven't owned my 46 Roadmaster long enough to know how well it would handle the trip, so the Limited is a proven cruiser. All 400 hp, and TONS OF ROOM. Guest Bill Miller
As far as vehicle eligibility is concerned, what I really would like to know is how fast the cars travel on the route. Is there a speed limit? I wouldn't want to drive our 1915 Dodge Brothers at 30-35 mph on a tour with modern iron doing 45 or 50. Likewise, I wouldn't want to drive a current Corvette with a stick shift at 40 mph in 3rd gear all day either.Bill

D Yaros
The rate/speed of travel varies throughout the route. It depends whether one is in the country or city. Speeds approaching 50 mph, at times, are not unusual.
