WANTED: Good running 6 cyl engine

I have a friend in New Jersey that is looking for a good running 6 cylinder engine for a 46-48 Chrysler. He is willing to travel a little ways to get one.

If anyone can help that would be great.

I have one thst is a mystery to me. Of coarse the guy that I got it from told me it used to run, but didnt they all?

I will have to open the hood and see if it has a starter. I know that there is no trans.

What he is really looking for is an engine that is running now so that he can just drop it into his car. It may be a tall order but ....

They do turn up from time to time. Same engine was used in postwar Chrysler and DeSoto up to 1954, large Dodge trucks to 1962 and military vehicles to 1968.

You might want to look up Vintage Power Wagons web site. They have literally tons and tons of flathead six parts, they may have a compete good engine.

Yes, I saw that thread. I don't think he wants to travel that far for an engine. Can't blame him.
