It looks like some were not that old.

...and I count at least three slant-backs. Of course they seemed more impractical and thus probably went earlier to scrap.

Hey Erndog, did you notice the car that has the sign on it? A '30 Buick. I'm looking at this great photo and fantasizing about walking up to one of those guys to ask whether I can pull off the bumperettes and maybe the heat riser parts. I wonder if some of those old scrapyards had a shed full of radiator ornaments and badge bars??
