Guest My TC Toy
I am listing this for a friend. He is looking for a 1950 Chrysler L6 solenoid. The solenoid pulls in the drive. The drive is not centrifugal. The one he has is fried and he needs a replacement. Thanks for any help.Bob Edited August 31, 2011 by My TC Toy (see edit history)
Rusty_OToole
2 good parts dealers to try are Andy Bernbaum and Roberts Motor Parts.Andy Bernbaum Auto Parts for Chrysler's cars from 30s to 70sRoberts Motor PartsDon't overlook your local NAPA or other auto parts store. Many parts for your car are still available through normal channels if the parts man can find a good part number to order them by. See if you can find where the local farmers shop, and look for an old gray haired or bald headed parts man.
c49er
The Square 4 terminal relay box end 6 and 8 solenoids are tough to find and expensive new. I think Mitchell Motor parts has one!. They are some what prone to trouble after years of use. You might be in need of the more common round plain solenoid. Guest J R
Sorry to dig up an old thread but can I swap out the square solenoid that is on my 50 Chrysler 251 for a round solenoid or will they not interchange?
rls120
J R: For what its worth- My 1950 Windsor has the round solenoid. Judging by the amount of crud on it, I think its probably original, but I couldn't guarantee it.
