tcslr
Looking for comments on what type of oil folks are using in their engines - and how often they are changing. Since I am changing this annually, I'm wondering what the consensus is.Tom
Guest martylum
I use 10-30 oil in my 30 and 33 Chryslers with annual oil changes.Martin Lum
lozrocks
I use Castrol GTX in my 75 and I change it every year. But I also have a full flow oil filter fitted. If you are still using the original bypass filter then you need a low detergent oil.
Guest martylum
my 1930 Desoto owners manuals suggest changing the oil every 500 miles but I don't actually change it more than once a year as i feel driving conditions today are certainly much improved over 1930 when there were many unpaved roads in most states leading to dust problems. I'm also pretty certain the many additives in today's oil make for a longer lasting lubricant. So far so good-20 + yearsMartin Lum
Willys77
Non ~ Detergent 30 Weight Castrol in an original, not ever rebuilt 134 cubic inch Flathead Four cylinder! Drop that pan and clean it out and you should be good to go!
