STAYGOLD
I am selling this original and early Chrysler "Wings" Hood Ornament. From the research I have done, it was actually designed for the 1924 model year Maxwell car, but Chrysler adopted its usage in 1924 and was used between 1924 and 1927 on various models. The part looks to be made of solid brass and then was nickel plated. It is in very good shape for it's age.Asking $225 + shipping - will ship worldwide.Send a PM or e-mail if you have any questions. Thanks! keiser31
I believe that what you show is a Model T Ford "Chrysler" copy cap. The real Chrysler cap had internal threads and was much more detailed.
keiser31
More photos of the real 1924-1928 Chrysler cap.....if it does not have the diamond shaped mark on the back, it probably is not Chrysler. There should be no hole at the top center as this one has. It was added later.
pre1939chrysler
The top cap is not Chrysler and is brass. The lower two are 1928s and are mase of pot metal. Also prior to 1928 all the caps were brass. Now, here is a question for you experts. Did Walter Percy ever make a pot metal cap??Scroll down for the answer.Yes,amd I have one to prove it. Not after market and is the real McCoy.
