Paul K.
I have always run 225/75/15 tires on my '64 and am considering going up one size to a 235/70/15. Is anyone running this size and if yes, is there any rubbing during turns from the fronts?
Jim65Riv
I have 225/75/15 tires on my 65 with standard steel wheels. I get frame rubbing at full steering lock . I'd have one 235 mounted and give it a try.
Guest Vetter
I've been running 235/70/15 tires for several years and haven't noticed any rubbing. However I have aftermarket wheels and a 1/4-5/16 spacer. If your 64 is the same as my 65 and you use the same size for the spare it wont fit back in its spot. The trunk lift rods interfere with it. CTX-SLPR
My 225/75R15's on stock stamped steel wheels rub on the frame at full lock and the spare has to be shoved in and worn a spot through the carpet. If I was looking at wider tires I'd be looking at some sort of spacer on the fronts at least to keep the sidewalls from rubbing.
