Frank Tate
I am trying to replace the bushings on the upper suspension arms on my 55 tbird. There is apparently a tool to do that, but I am unable to locate it. Anybody have a source for that tool, or a suggestion on how to do this particular repair? ThanksFrank
junkyardjeff
When rebuilding the suspension on my 55 sunliner I used a air chisle to remove the bushings and bought large 3/4 drive sockets to drive them in,I do have a 3/4 drive ratchet if I would ever need to use the sockets to actually remove a large bolt but they worked great in installing the bushings. There are probably a correct tool to do it but I never seen one.
Jay Wolf
I used the 3/4 drive sockets and a large vice to remove and install mine.
Frank Tate
Thanks guys! The manual says that I need to use something about 2.25" OD for the arm's outer circumfurence and then something to wrap around the shaft and the bearing's inner circumfurence. That is the issue with me. I will work on it.
