Seldenguy
Diz--1955 is a one plate year,(On the rear)black characters with a yellow background. Also "NY-The Empire State-55" at the top. 1956 is a tab "56" that mounts on the upper right corner covering the "55". The tab has a registration number stamped on it but is immatieral today, and is color reversed. There are many on Ebay.I think I may have an extra, send me a PM with your address and I will mail you one,if available.Obviously '56 is a one plate also ---Bob
ex98thdrill
Dale,Bill Boudway had a pile of NY plates that he wanted to sell. He may have a set of '56's left. I just saw him Saturday, but most likely won't see him until Philly.
