Fr. Buick
My Pop picked up an early Nailhead the other day...Block # reads V7801345.It has been modified for hot-rodding - Ford frame mounts, aluminum flywheel and what I think is a big-series Buick clutch, a WCFB four-barrel with the Buick starter switch, and a cast pully on the front with no harmonic balancer.Any clue on what we have here?Grateful for any help, and happy wrenching!Doug Cook

Original 236 horsepower.!955 starts with V720080 and 1956 starts with V1460023. Leif in Sweden.

old-tank
....a WCFB four-barrel with the Buick starter switch, and a cast pully on the front with no harmonic balancer....DougThe number and four-barrel would be correct for a 55 Super, but that engine should have a harmonic balancer...only the Special (264) had the cast pulley. While the cast pulley would 'fit' the 322 it would not work well since both engines are balanced front and back differently. But who knows what rodders have done over the years.Willie
