alsfarms
Can anyone in this group of British auto's confirm the origin of the Flying Eagle radiator ornament show in the attached pictures? Help me if you can.Al
Peter J.Heizmann
Hello, Al.Very nice photos of the ornament. May be a shot in the dark however I will enlist (tap the mind) of Chris Ritter, AACA Library & Research Center head librarian to see if we retain any hood ornament literature. I will bring your thread to his attention and see what research data may/may not be available. Regards,Peter.Peter J. AACA Library
Al,I can not confirm that your ornament is from an Alvis. The Alvis literature that we have shows a different wing shape (pointier tips) and a different head shape. The attached pictures were pulled from original sales literature and the photograph is from a book entitled "Motoring MAscots of the World" by William C. Williams. While the images I have in the library do not confirm your ornament as an Alvis, it does not mean it isn't from an Alvis. There were, however, no other similar ornaments in the book. -ChrisAACA Librar & Research Center
