Bob Zetnick
This may seem like a weird little question, but I have dropped the oil pan on my 29 DA and was cleaning off the bolts that held it in place. As I claened them there was what looked like a little interlocked DB in a circle on the bolt heads. I tryed to photograph, but is too blurry. Did Dodge have their bolts stamped with their logo? keiser31
Yes. A ton of my 1931 Dodge bolts have the DB logo.
Bob Zetnick
Thanks, John, that is wild to me to think about some manufacturer going to the trouble to stamps the bolts! Have a great day!
Guest DodgeKCL
Plymouths had the "DB" logo on their bolt heads as well. Some bolts have the corporate 'CPDD" symbol on them and I think they are shop replacements used during repairs?
keiser31
All I can say about that is that they must have been really proud of their cars to have so many bolts marked with their initials. Rightfully so!
Bob Zetnick
You're right, not sure there is that much pride in today's American car manufacture. I'm sure many on the line are proud of what they create, but that little logo would have meant nothing to the higher-ups that want to maintain a dollar "bottom line". nearchoclatetown
DB as did most major car Co.s made almost all their own parts. That is why they have their logo on the bolts. Watch the dvd from the DBC, made in the 20's. hey did it all. Henry was even trying to grow his own trees for rubber.
Guest 1930
I am pretty sure that not all the bolts were marked that way. I have looked into it and it seems that way for me. Just mentioning it in case you thought you needed to hunt correct bolts.

Bob Zetnick
Yeah, not all the bolts I've found are marked....these are the first I've discovered; the oil pan bolts and the bolts that seal a plate from oil pan to transmission housing.
keiser31
Here is a picture from the DBClub News of the bolts in question.
Bob Zetnick
Thanks John! A better photo than I could have taken! My bolts have the logo in the center; it's still weird to me that they stamped their bolts though!
keiser31
The ones on my '31 are all stamped near the edge. Mmmmmm....
