Guest Z71Hobbs Posted April 29, 2009 Share Posted April 29, 2009 Hello all... have a few more questions.We are in the midst of the chassis restoration and I am trying to determine how to properly mount the exhaust to the chassis. The original pieces are long gone. I have located a few photos from a 1934 chassis in Wade's Shop in Australia, compliments of Mal I am trying to determine is if the brackets displayed are correct.If so, I will need to find some. Restorer32 Posted April 29, 2009 Share Posted April 29, 2009 A 1934 might be considerably different from a 1933 Standard which would be more like a 1932 900. The images you have uploaded through the packardinfo site have been fantastic and invaluable. The next time you are over at wade's shop, would you be able to take some detailed photos of the muffler brackets, both front and rear? I would like to get as many detailed photos as I can get! It's a Samsung S630 6.0 mega pixels and I bought a 1 gb memory for it as well. Realise now I didn't use the close up function at all for those pic's, so in the circumstances they didn't turn out too badly especially as many were taken as hand held, point and hope because of the restricted area involved. Ozstatman Posted May 6, 2009 Share Posted May 6, 2009 Hobbs,Looks like you're in luck. Wade doesn't require the muffler brackets so if you're still after them please let me know. Brackets are complete but the front rubber mount to the chassis is shot, after all it's only 75 years old, and there is only one U-bolt. The rear bracket has wire holding it together, that is to show the way it should be assembled. Likewise with the front bracket which has tape holding it together. Note - if they are required they will be shipped with the California dirt they arrived with here in Oz! So cleaning WILL be required.Tomorrow I'll go to the Post Office and get a shipping cost, as I presume you'll require them. Then we can work out payment, being a nominal cost for the parts, plus shipping.
