Vintman
Hi Folks,Our Help Page has received this curious photo taken in a Beijing Museum of an official car marked as a 'Red Flag'. I am relatively sure this is not a Hong Qi but would be most grateful for any input. I have not been able to trace any Russian car of similar appearance, but it does have some aspects of a 1940s Chrysler?Kind RegardsVintman (UK)www.svvs.org
Vintman
I am not sure what is happening with the photo attachment system. It seems to add totally randon pics which are not from my computer!!!Vintman
keiser31
Looks like a Russian Pobeda.

Vintman
Hi Keiser,I agree that the Pobeda/Warszawa are the nearest but there seem to be too many discrepancies in the car and the surrounding history. I am not aware of anything similar in the USSR except possibly a prototype/special body of which I have no photos. Can you or others advise which US car the mystery car could have been modelled on as this could give me an avenue of likely cooperation with the Eastern Block. I don’t think the car is Chinese despite it being named so.Kind RegardsVintman (UK)www.svvs.org
Fleek
I do not really think this is the answer, but there are some simularities to the 49 - 51 Nash Ambassidors. Mainly the large rounded fenders. Would be helpful to see a side and rear view.
Vintman
Hi Folks,I seem to have cracked it with help from web friends in France. It is a SKODA VOS.
