cooterbfd
I am restoring a 1929 Buick Standard (116) SOmeone is selling the driveline out of a 1927 Buick. If it is the same size Buick (the standard) will the engine, tranny and rear end/tourque tube fit on mine??? Thanks, John
Mark Shaw
I dunno, but will be glad to get measurements for the 1929 116 series if you need them for comparison.
cooterbfd
Thanks. The auction ends tomorrow, and I was just wondering if the engine was the same. My tranny and rear should be fine, but if he's selling it all (and the wood rims) I thought I'd grab it all on a whim, but just wanted to make sure they were the same. Leif Holmberg
I don`t think you can use a 1927 engine on your 1929 gearbox. If I remember right 1927 gear box are built as mail to compare the engine, and from 1928 the gearbox is femail built to compare against the engine.1929 engine looks a bit different too with more rounded covers with comparing the valve and spark covers. From 1928 the gearshift was the first time that Buick used the standard"H"pattern. You have to check this by your self.
