  1. If the casting number is 1175109, that should confirm it's a truck engine
  2. Pete to the rescue again!!! I was going to say that I may have sold one to Skip several years ago
  3. Hi everyone. Pete hunted down a right rear fender for my '49 Super 4 dr. Came in today, shipped beautifully. Much better than mine. I just wanted to publicly Thank him for his efforts. Thanks, Pete!!!
  4. What would concern me is any dust and debris could enter the engine, while the cap is filtered.
  5. If you did (he said he'd put tires on the front to make it a roller), How much for the right rear fender, and the front passenger door latch? Thanks, John
  6. Yeah.....but even at that, for $1200, is it then worth the extra $1000 to ship it?
  7. A little too pricey for me, with shipping ($1000+) I really only need the right rear fender.....they won't part....whole car only.....if anyone is interested... http://www.dansoldcars.net/Buick.htm http://www.dansoldcars.net/100_6461.jpg
  8. That's an excellent tip!!! Thanks. I'll have to remember that
  9. Would a driver's side latch from a 4 dr work?? https://www.ebay.com/i/303543928905?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=303543928905&targetid=1068715361694&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9002183&poi=&campaignid=11612583999&mkgroupid=113642462552&rlsatarget=pla-1068715361694&abcId=9300457&merchantid=113749949&gclid=Cj0KCQiA3Y-ABhCnARIsAKYDH7vxRjO1iQCJR6BQzFrFRHzfY7qi9mbQ39bxnzEJMq5rvJhUrJh4pesaArhlEALw_wcB
  10. Pete. Thanks, for the photos. Unfortunately, the part of the rear fender i need is worse than whats there. Thanks for your time, John
  11. Terrific.......just what I needed.......I knew I'd regret this.....LOLOL......I've made a mess of the right rear one on mine. Would it be too much to ask for a photo and a price? Thanks, John
  12. I'm gonna regret asking, but do you still have the right rear outer fender? Thanks, John
  13. I don't know if '59 is hard and fast with you, but here's a '58 Century 2 dr that's had the body work done https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/320952675608491/?ref=search&referral_code=undefined
  14. Scott, You said you were parting out a '49 Super 4 dr. How are the rear fenders on that? Thanks, John
  15. Has anyone seen this??? 1 of 4??? https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/2698959496988586/?ref=search&referral_code=undefined
  16. Frank, I had bought a PBX swichboard that came out of a hotel in NH. It had just been taken out of service, and this was 2004!!! This is even older. A Stromberg-Carlson switchboard from 1910-1920. Couldn't pass that up.........for $45!!!!
  17. And this is what Sarah used to connect you with the feed store
  18. Not too sure I agree about Mary. She's the daughter of a GM lifer, a toolmaker, and got her degree from the GM Institute (now Kettering University). When Bob Lutz got there, things started to change with the product. The cheap, shiny, plastics are gone. The 5 products I have leased or purchased have been reliable. The only nagging trouble I've is with the Blue Def system in my Chevy Cruze diesel, and according to my wife's uncle, who owned a medium/heavy truck repair shop, they are troublesome industry wide. I'll take that issue all day as opposed to what VW did to their customers with their d
  19. Yeah. Gonna take time before I attempt it, but I'd like to try to start in Boston, drive to Newport(??) Oregon all the way on 20. Then, take the PCH down to where Rt 6 ended in California, and drive that back to Provincetown, Ma. I'm not saying I'd attempt that in the Wildcat but.......
  20. Matt, idle thought. Not that it's any consolation but, could this be some sort of pre production model?? I too agree that, today dealerships want glorified parts changers as opposed to actual troubleshooting technicians. My wife insisted on the 2020 Envision. It's the (excuse me while I swallow my vomit) Chinese model. Prior to that we had a 2017 Traverse. Both had many of those same bells and whistles (no nav, I'm my own nav). Both have been flawless in their operation. Nothing but gas, oil, tires. Many of those messages are probably because personal settings aren't to your l
  21. I think this is a byproduct of all these shows on TV today. They all have master crews that can modify anything in short order, and with sponsorships from major advertisers like Jegs, Summit, Snap-On, etc, they probably get those components cheap, if not free. All I needed to see was Chip Foose fix up a girl's '65 Skylark convertible that she has had since she was 16. Husband had it done for her as a surprise. Disgusted when I saw him dump the old 300-2bbl in a trailer and drop a crate 350 in it. EVERYBODY seems to think it's that easy.
