srr60
I'm doing some general work on my engine. I have the manuals. I am concerned about how much to tighten bolts on the intake manifold (for example). Someone mentioned that I should get Buick service bulletins to go with the manuals that I have. Anyone know? Thanks,

Guest musclecarfan65
there is also a book available called "riviera refernce book" which re-prints every (?) dealer bulletin. you can order this at www.oldbuickparts.com in the riviera section. go to group #16 and on page 2 you will find the b&w book for $22. order number is RRB 1-4. John
The chassis manual has torque specs--you shouldn't need the service bulletins for general engine repair.John
Jim Cannon
There are quite a number of helpful tips, details not provided in the Shop Manual, and tech service bulletins in the service bulletins. They are a great supplement to the Shop Manual. These were letters from the Buick Technical Dept. to all of the dealer service departments.I have the '63, '64, and '65 dealer Service Bulletins and I refer to them often. For example, did you know the Washer Solvent bottle was moved early in the '63 model year?http://www.box.net/shared/c85j8p9b6r Edited February 16, 2011 by Jim_Cannon (see edit history)
1965rivgs
This bulletin does not apply to the Riviera....check the model numbers listed. Tom Mooney
